By special permission I recently spent a magical morning in Newby Hall Gardens (the 2015 season begins on 1st April).
It was an absolute privilege to be able to stroll around the gardens with my camera on a beautiful winter's morning. After overnight rain, water droplets glistened on carpets of snowdrops and winter aconites. In the warm sunshine the air soon filled with the intoxicating fragrance of Sarcococca blossom, and as I quietly worked, bullfinches fed on the ground close by. I owe a really big thank you to the Newby Hall staff and the all gardening team for allowing me to share such a special experience.
