I am delighted to have an article in the current ( September / October 2011 ) issue of Scottish Islands Explorer magazine. The article concludes a three part series on IONA, and aims to give a photographer's view ...

It was a privilege to weave together a story of some of the artists who have fallen under the spell of Iona and to describe how their work influences my Hebridean photography. In the early twentieth century Scottish Colourists Peploe and Cadell enjoyed the special light and colours of Iona, making bold interpretations in oil and watercolour. Their work has influenced many artists, and my impressionistic seascapes owe much to the colourful minimalistic styles of Peploe and Cadell.
